NARI of Southeast Michigan is a not-for-profit trade association committed exclusively to the service of the professional remodeling industry and its customers: the nation's homeowners. The Southeast Michigan Chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) serves remodeling professionals and homeowners in Southeast Michigan. Recycle Ann Arbor is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization improving environmental quality through reuse, recycling, and effective energy use. Recycle Ann Arbor started Michigan’s first curbside recycling program in 1978, and currently operates the state’s largest community Drop-Off Station, the ReUse Center, the Environmental House green building resource center, the Ann Arbor curbside recycling program, and Calvert’s Roll-Off Containers. The Environmental House Energy & Green Building Resource Center (EnHouse) is a comprehensive resource and touring facility dedicated to furthering the causes of green building, energy efficiency and renewable energy. The Clean Energy Coalition is a 501(c)3 non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to promoting clean energy technologies as a way to create healthier, energy independent communities. CEC was formed by the stakeholders of the Ann Arbor Area Clean Cities Coalition as a new non-profit entity to house and expand upon the work of the Ann Arbor Clean Cities program. To date, this program has successfully managed and completed over 30 state and federal grants valued at over $700,000. The Coalition’s major programs include implementation of the Biofuels Infrastructure Grants (BIG) program, which provides funds to Michigan public service stations to install or convert fuel delivery systems to sell high blend E85 and/or biodiesel blends of B20 or higher; Michigan Energy $ense, which supports comprehensive, whole house energy retrofits in existing homes as well as the construction of new homes built to the Energy Star standard; and implementing the U.S DOE Solar American Cities Project, which pursues complementary activities in R&D and market transformation to reduce cost through deployment.
